Introduce Your Child to the Thrills of Sailing!
If you have children between the ages of 7 and 12, our Opti’s are the perfect boat to learn the fundamentals of sailing. Teens ages 13-18 will learn and practice on our fleet of Sunfish. With the careful instructions of club members who have a commitment to promoting the sport, teaching sailing, and instilling confidence, this is a great opportunity.
Who: Juniors ages of 7-12 and Teens ages of 13-18 (prior year students who want to further improve their skills and practice are also welcome)
What: Learn the basics of sailing, including water safety, boat anatomy, rigging, knots, points-of-sail and boat maintenance
Where: Jacobson Park Lake, Lexington, Kentucky
When (2025):
Tuesdays: July 8th, 15th and 22nd from 6pm – 8pm
Saturdays: July 12th, 19th and 26th (Pirate Day!) from 1p – 4pm
Cost: Members : $65, Non-members: $65 plus family membership in CRSA or student membership at $35
GET INVOLVED!
We are an all-volunteer academy and always need volunteers who are willing to give some time and help expand our efforts and offer this program to more youth. There are numerous tasks you can help with to support this endeavor!
There is no experience necessary!
