Cave Run Sailing Association (CRSA)
We are a non-profit organization comprised of individuals and families who love sailing and want to share our passion. Our world of sailing offers a range of activities that you can become involved in: sailing instruction and certification, our Youth Sailing Academy, regattas and club racing on Cave Run Lake, cruises around the world, and year-round on-and-off-lake social events.
Learn: we offer youth and teen sailing at Jacobson Park in Lexington, Kentucky each summer, as well as a beginning adult class and American Sailing Association (ASA) certifications at Cave Run Lake in Morehead, Kentucky and Kentucky Lake in western Kentucky.
Sail: we host two regattas each year to open and close the on-lake season: the Bluegrass Charity Regatta (May) and the Grand Annual Regatta (September). Our club race season is from April to September each year. If you want to experience sailing or skipper your own boat, you are invited to join any or all of our racing events. We will place you as crew on a member’s boat or you can have fun swimming and sliding on the race committee boat.
Cruise: we also have outstanding annual destination cruises with a wide range of worldly locations at exceptional prices. Most recently, small groups (or flotillas) have sailed the Greek Islands; Amalfi Coast of Italy; Mallorca, Spain; Victoria, British Columbia and the San Juan Islands off the Seattle, Washington coast.
Play: social events are enjoyed by all year-round, on-lake and off-lake. New member Spring party, Trip-Tales story-telling of member’s adventures or learning sessions, various raft-ups, Summer Sailabrations and the Annual Banquet.
Work: sailboats require maintenance and fine-tuning. Chances are we have members who know the ropes (uh..lines!) and have the experience and knowledge and willingness to share. We’re great at this!
Come On! Join us in all the fun!!! Join Us!
CRSA Youth Sailing Academy
Creating Opportunities for Our Younger Sailors
With great excitement it is my pleasure to present the newest addition to our CRSA family – the Youth Sailing Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! This means you can now deduct your contributions to Youth Sailing! This will allow us to raise more money to promote sailing programs for young people. We also offer opportunities for older kids (teenagers through college level) with our sunfish fleet and offer scholarships to underprivileged youth who want to learn to sail.
How can you help?
- Volunteer with our Opti’s program for 7-12 children!
- Volunteer with our next level of sailing-teenagers on Sunfish!
- Contribute any amount you can and consider naming us as a benefactor in your will.
Call me today and let’s shape our future!
