NOTICE OF RACE
40th Grand Annual Regatta

The Cave Run Sailing Association invites you to join us for our 40th Grand Annual Regatta. Located in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest, the Autumn colors make Cave Run Lake an exceptionally beautiful place to sail.
Location: The Boat Gunnel Group Use Area next to the Twin Knobs Campground has been reserved by CRSA for the weekend of September 28-29, and will serve as the Regatta Headquarters and provides camping on a first come basis for regatta participants.
Rules: This regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the current edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of US Sailing, except as any of these are altered by this NOR or the Sailing Instructions.
Fleets and Scoring: A minimum of five boats constitutes a one-design fleet (i.e. Catalina 22, Flying Scot, National One Design, etc.) with a separate start. All other boats will compete in the day-sailor or cruiser fleets based on Portsmouth handicaps. Scoring will be Low Point Scoring System Appendix A, as amended by the Sailing Instructions. Three races are scheduled on Saturday and two on Sunday
– Weather conditions dependent. A minimum of one race constitutes a regatta and all races shall be scored. Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in each class based on the number of boats within each fleet. An overall Grand Annual award will be given based on corrected time of all boats.
Registration: On-line Registration will be available beginning August 5, 2019. On-site registration will begin Saturday September 29th at 0900. The registration fee is $45. Junior Sailor registration (skippers age 19 and under) is $30. This includes entry, breakfast (2), lunch (2), Saturday dinner, and one shirt. Crew or guests (each) fees are $30 and includes breakfast (2), lunch (2), Saturday dinner, and shirt. Additional shirts are available for $15. Additional Saturday dinners for adults and juniors are $15 and $10, respectively.
Sailing Instructions: Sailing Instructions will be posted on the CRSA web page and will be available at the registration site to all registered boats. Changes to the sailing instructions will be posted at the Regatta Headquarters registration site.

Launching Facilities: Boat Launching facilities are available at either the Scott Creek Boat Ramp or through the Twin Knobs Campground Facility.
Passes for the Scott Creek Boat Ramp are required and may be purchased at the Cave Run Ranger Station, the Store across from Scott’s Creek Marina Boat Ramp or Scott Creek Marina Office

Camping: The Boat Gunnel Use Area has camping spaces for regatta participants on a first-come basis. These cannot be reserved. There is a nice clean bath house, and limited electricity (please plan on not using electricity if possible).
